Milton Hirsch, Florida Criminal Defense Attorney
After receiving his J.D.
from Georgetown University Law Center, Milton Hirsch joined
the Office of the State Attorney in Miami-Dade County
Florida, and rose to assistant chief of narcotics
prosecution.
Since entering private practice as a Florida Criminal Defense Attorney, Milton Hirsch has
handled some of Miami's most notorious and controversial
criminal cases. His acquittal of former Los Angeles
Dodger/St. Louis Cardinal All-Star Pedro Guerrero on federal
narcotics charges prompted the sports editor of The New
York Post to write: “When the time comes that I finally
snap, someone please contact attorney Milton Hirsch to
represent me.”
Milt is an adjunct professor at the
University of Miami, a past president of the Florida Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers, Miami chapter, and is named in The Best
Lawyers in America. He is also listed as one of South
Florida’s top lawyers in Miami Metro Magazine; in
Florida Super Lawyers; and in the South Florida Legal Guide.
In October of 2004, Milt’s novel The Shadow of Justice won the
2004 first-place award presented by the Midwest Independent
Publishers Association in the mystery/suspense category, and
was named as a finalist for the 2005 Benjamin Franklin Award
in the category of Best New Voice (Fiction).
Milt was one of a handful of attorneys showcased in the movie After
Innocence, an award-winning Showtime full-length
documentary about DNA and the “innocence movement.”
